Here are some questions you can spring on them when they are feeling particularly philosophical: 1) Why do birds get to fly? 2) What makes a rainbow? 3) What were the 1980's like? 4) Why do Grandpa's wear socks up to their knees? 5) Why do some people have brown eyes? 6) If you were born in India what would be different? 7) Why do balloons make such a loud noise when they pop? 8) How does a car work? 9) How old is the oldest tree? 10) Why do clouds look so fluffy? 11) Whose face do you think should be on Money and why? 12) Why do doggies have tails?
Just a few off the top of my head.
I'd ask David those but at Age 9, he's too stubborn to play along. Trying to spring a water balloon event upon him I asked him if he was hot since the temps here were > 100. He deadpans: "No, I'm David." Takes half the fun out of being an uncle :)
